Lock It Up

If you keep alcohol at home, keep it locked away, or monitor the alcohol levels in the bottles. Make sure you tell your child that you don’t allow drinking, or unchaperoned parties or teen gatherings in your home. Kids need adult supervision. It’s part of what parenting is all about. And remember, you may be able to trust your child not to use the alcohol in your home, but you may not know if you can trust their friends or acquaintances.

If you use marijuana, it's also important to keep it locked up so your kids (or their friends) can't access it. The same holds true for prescription drugs in your home.
